Contact us

Email info@apheresa.org. Please include:

  • the IPFA version (in About, or at the foot of the start screen);
  • your macOS version;
  • what you did, what you expected and what happened instead.

Never send your file password, your bank login or PIN, your API keys or your .fmgr file. We will never ask for them.

IPFA keeps a log of what it did. Send it only if we ask, and read it first: it can name your folders, files and tickers. It never holds passwords, keys or amounts.

Common questions

I forgot my file password.

It cannot be recovered. Your file is encrypted with it, and nobody, not Apheresa either, holds a copy.

How do I restore a backup?

When a file will not open, the start screen offers Restore from a backup…. The user guide in Help explains each step.

Does IPFA send my data anywhere?

IPFA never sends your finances anywhere. With Online rates and prices on, IPFA asks rate and price services for exchange rates and prices; they receive currency codes, tickers and dates, never your amounts or accounts. Turn it off in Settings → API keys. See the privacy policy.

Do I need an API key?

No. Without one, IPFA still gets exchange rates and crypto prices. Keys from ExchangeRate-API, Finnhub, EODHD or financialdata.net add more currencies and prices. Use only your own keys, for your own use. Add them in Settings → API keys.

My bank download fails.

Check the connection details in Settings → Bank connections, and that your bank still offers direct downloads. Your bank's support can confirm the server address. You can always import a statement file your bank lets you download instead.
